"Simply Charming"

Shadow Mountain Escape (SME) offers three Timber Frame Structures located in a beautiful "niche" of the Blue Ridge Mountains (Shenandoah Valley) known as "Jewell Hollow".

The primary timber frame structure is a unique duplex lodge (Bear Dance Lodge) cleverly designed with no walls shared between the two separate cabins called the Bumble Bee and Dragon Fly cabins. Although these two cabins are both part of the Bear Dance Lodge, the unique design of the lodge sets them off as stand-alone cabins sharing no common walls and connected only by the observation tower. These two cabins are two levels with their own full kitchen, bath, fireplace or wood stove, and decks. Our stand-alone structure is the Butterfly loft.which sits at the top level of SME’s “salt box” barn structure.

The Lodge has SME's common areas which include the lobby, Observation Tower and Cantina. The observation tower provides a striking view of the ridge line (Skyline drive) and surrounding forest for guests to enjoy.
